Headings Example: Article page (H1)

This example page demonstrates the most common use of content blocks on an Article page. For specific questions, please contact the UCM web team for assistance.

Article pages typically start with a Hero block. The text entered in the "Main Title" field will automatically be styled as a Heading 1. This should be the only Heading 1 on the page.

A Basic block title (H2)

Article pages offer a wide range of content block options and flexibility in layout and styles. While this gives you significant control over the layout of the page, it also requires you to understand how each content block styles content and how to correctly use the fields within content blocks to ensure your page has proper heading structure.

For example, this is a Basic content block. The Basic block title is automatically styled as Heading 2 (H2).

This is the secondary text (paragraph text).

Each major section should have one H2. In this block, choose one place for the H2 (either the block Title, the Main Title field, or an H2 in a text field).

As you add blocks, keep headings in order: use H2 for new sections, and H3 (or lower) only for subsections within the H2 above.

The best way to confirm which heading level a field uses is to add sample text, save the page, and use Inspect in your browser to check the heading level (H2, H3, etc.) in the rendered page.
