All websites representing Tulane University must be created and managed using approved templates and layouts that align with the university’s brand identity. Site administrators and content creators are required to follow university guidelines regarding brand identity, web accessibility, hosting, security and all applicable laws and regulations.
Hosting Requirements
To maintain the highest levels of security, integrity and continuity, all Tulane websites must be hosted on university-approved systems. All public-facing websites must be created and maintained using Tulane’s supported content management systems (CMS), event management system (WaveSync), customer relationship management (CRM) systems, or other approved web platforms.
Approved web content management systems include:
- Drupal: The primary content management system (CMS) for Tulane schools, departments, and administrative units. New Drupal sites may be requested via the Tulane IT Portal and are subject to approval by the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) web team.
- WordPress: Tulane IT offers WordPress as an alternative CMS for sites that are not approved for Drupal. Note: WordPress is the standard platform for student group websites and should be used for all student organization web content.
Please submit any web standard questions through the UCM Support Request form.
