Drupal Content Types

Content types are templates that display content in various ways. These can include page templates or blocks of content that appear on other pages or areas of the site.

The following content types are available on all Tulane Drupal sites. In addition to these content types your site may have additional content options available depending on the requirements for your site.

Universal Page

The most commonly used content type is the Universal Page, which is good for building basic informational pages. Universal pages are ideal for the vast majority of a site's interior pages. Universal pages can include headings, paragraphs, order lists, unordered lists, images and a "local" navigation on the right side of the content area.

Example Pages:

Article Page

Article pages work well for a site's home page or an interior landing page that has a lot of content. Article pages offer various custom blocks and most of these blocks offer multiple display options that allow for a dynamic page. Block examples include photo grid layouts, image carousels, accordions, image/text layouts and quick links.

*Note: Sidebar navigation menus are not available on Article pages

Example Pages:

Alert

Alerts can be used to temporarily display a short notification on the top of every page of your site.

Tulane News

Tulane News pages are generally used for news stories/press releases and include author information, published date, and tags for stories.

The Tulane News content type is typically customized based on your content requirements. Please contact us to learn more about using the Tulane News content type.
