Content Types

Content types are templates that display content in various ways. The most commonly used content type is the Universal Page, which is good for building basic informational pages. Every Tulane website has its own “home page.” Most home pages utilize the “Universal Landing Page” or “School Landing Page” content type.

Please see examples of each below:

Universal Page

This content type is ideal for the vast majority of your site's interior pages. You can include 800x600 images, text, video and accordions on Universal pages.

If you add new pages to your menu, they will also auto-populate in a right sidebar navigation on Universal pages.

Universal Landing Page

Universal Landing Pages work well for a site's home page or an interior landing page that has a lot of content. These content types include a large hero image at the top, intro text, News SPIFs, body text, a featured block, Facts & Figures and the option to add a social feed at the bottom of the page. You can also add accordions within the intro or body text section.

*Note: Sidebars are not available on Universal Landing Pages

Full Width Template

Full Width Templates can be used for home pages or interior pages. These templates do not have a large hero at the top. Instead there is an intro text section with square tiles below. You can include as many tiles as you want. Each tile consists of a 800x600 photo, a title, link and an optional short description.

News SPIFs

News SPIFS, or “Special Interest Features,” showcase summary content on the home page. Each SPIF has a photo, a blurb and then link to a page or article.

You must create both the article or page AND the News SPIF, and then feature it on the home page. News SPIFS must be created and edited outside the home page itself.
